We are very proud and excited to announce Raymond Blanc, OBE as our official ambassador for Love Food Give Food this autumn.
Raymond has been a loyal supporter of Action Against Hunger for many years. His two michelin starred restaurant Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons fundraises every September and October as part of Love Food Give Food and Raymond himself is passionate about the work Action Against Hunger does.
He is a firm advocate for rallying the food world to get child hunger off the table and he is also a very generous donor to the organisation. In March this year Raymond presented our Executive Director with a cheque for a staggering £20,000 at a special ceremony at his restaurant in Oxford.
Raymond is delighted to be an ambassador for this appeal and took the time to tell us why he supports Love Food Give Food.
“Food has been my passion ever since I was a boy and I continue to be inspired by it every day.” Said Raymond.
“But food is also a privilege and through my work as an ambassador for Action Against Hunger I know that many children are suffering because they do not have enough to eat. I firmly believe that those of us who enjoy good food so much, should do what we can to help those who have none.
“This is why I am very happy to support Love Food Give Food, which is turning people’s passion for food into positive action to fight child hunger.
“This year the appeal is set to help at least 100,000 children. It is an honour to be involved and I urge food lovers across the UK to join me and help get child hunger off the table.
The UK government is matching every single pound raised, so your support will go twice as far and help reach even more children. If you love food, please show your support and help give food to those who need it most.”
