Action Against Hunger
ACF International | Action Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organisation committed to ending child hunger. Recognised as a leader in the fight against malnutrition, Action Against Hunger saves the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. With 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster and chronic food insecurity, Action Against Hunger runs life-saving programmes in over 45 countries benefitting seven million people each year.
With head offices in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, the United States and Canada, our international network shares its combined resources, breadth of experience and technical expertise in pursuit of a world without hunger.
Every year, our 5,200+ field workers help over 7 million people in over 45 countries worldwide.
Love Food Give Food
Love Food Give Food unites food lovers across the UK into taking action against hunger. Everyone from our well-known chef ambassadors and restaurants, food producers and bloggers, to those who simply love to cook, can take a small action and make a big difference to get child hunger off the table.
The support provided by our chefs and restaurants allows Action Against Hunger not only to treat malnourished children but also to provide their families with with access to safe water and long term sustainable solutions to hunger.
Action Against Hunger has been working with the food industry for 15 years, and last
autumn Love Food Give Food was bigger than ever. The UK Government will match pound for pound all public donations made between 1st September and 30th November 2012. This means that all donations we received towards our Love Food Give Food appeal during this period will be doubled so we can reach twice as many malnourished children and provide them with the support and nutrition they need to grow, learn and develop.
It costs just £1 a day to provide an acutely malnourished child with the care they need to survive. A gift of £36 is enough to take a child back from the brink of starvation to full health, in just a few short weeks.
We’re there in over 40 countries worldwide, reaching over 7 million people every year.
